How Journaling Helps To Let Go and Let God

You know those days when you wake up and just feel really heavy? Like there’s a lot of ‘build up’ in your heart? This morning I was feeling a little funky and sensed God asking me to journal out everything I was feeling. I asked the Holy Spirit to please guide me, then started listing things off. When I got to the fourth item, I felt God say stop.

That’s enough.

To take a look and see how many of the things I’d written down were from him. None were, of course. And it was a big, beautiful reminder to let go and let God. ⁣ ⁣ *Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30⁣ ⁣ *Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. - John 14:27⁣ ⁣ If you’re starting your day feeling funky too, I pray you get to have some wonderfully intimate time with God. It’s not always easy to slow down, face our weaknesses when we so badly want to be strong and say “God, please help me” but we should, as God wants. Thank you Jesus for all you’ve done. ❤️ #theyayproject
