    Making Mistakes as a Christian

I loved every second of the latest episode of The Chosen (Season 2, Episode 6). There was a moment where one of the characters was mulling over a mistake, and Jesus said something like “You thought you’d never sin again?” Haha ah have you ever felt like this? Like “I’ve matured, why am I acting immaturely?” The other day I was feeling a bit upset (moving is emotional!) and, thankfully, my mom didn’t allow me to complain. Praise God for those people in our life who always poin

The Yay Project in The Spiritual Go-Getter Magazine (August 2021)

In life, we’re often taught to take calculated risks. To weigh the data, make lists of the pros and cons to lessen our chances of failure. While this can be a good thing, how many times has God broken the mold? People thought Abraham was crazy. (A child at his age?) And Daniel. (Still not bowing down even when the King / your boss is threatening you?) And Mary. (Must be lying, what virgin gets pregnant?) And Jesus. (God in a human body??) Has God ever asked you to do somethin

    Your Obedience Matters

We know we're to obey God... but does it ever feel so hard? Sometimes it's because our dreams feel so exciting we're tempted to run ahead of God. Or maybe it's because our God-given vision seems so intense we're tempted to give up before we start. If you're wanting an 'obey God' pep talk, think of this episode as just that! I'll share my ten-year journey (from 20 to 30) of learning to obey God and three reminders of why obeying God is so important. May we never drag our feet

    Living Aware of Jesus’s Return

For those who are weary, for those feeling off track, come back to the heart of worship. Know the Lord’s arms are open wide. May we live today, fully aware, of the 🔥 POWER of the GOSPEL ❤️! We are free! We are redeemed! Our Lord Jesus, the Savior of our souls, is coming back. *But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Nailing Lust to the Cross

Lust is not love, and not always an easy thing to talk about. It can bring up feelings of defiance, self righteousness, denial, shame… at least for me, in the past. While there were times when I felt manipulated, mostly I felt my mistakes were made because of my own curiosity. I wanted what I wanted, but of course I didn’t want anyone else to know about it! Everything changed when in my lowest season, God showed me his love anyway. When I felt broken and burned, he asked me i

Are You Thankful for God’s Direction and Redirection?

As I was praying this morning, I saw an image of Jesus at the edge of a pier. I could get there: After getting on God’s speedboat After I needed to be rescued After I tried to swim there independently Which is my preference? The first, clearly! And I felt God remind me, “The way I would receive you is the same, with love.” “I love when you accomplish what I’ve set out for you to do. But always remember you’re not worthy because of what you have done. I died for your sins, bec

How God Encouraged Me to Be More Vulnerable... With Him

How vulnerable would you say you are before God? Or to think of this another way, have you ever been in a relationship (romantic or otherwise) where you’ve been afraid to be fully vulnerable? Maybe you didn’t want to seem to needy or broken or immature or not enough. Maybe you feared rejection, of being left. I’ve felt this at times and then put up walls to convince myself that I didn’t need or want to be more vulnerable anyway. Everything was good, I had my life together. Th

Waiting for Departure, With God’s ‘Ticket’ in Hand

As I was praying this morning, I felt God remind me of the feeling I get when I’m in an airport. New adventures, new people to meet, new experiences — yay! How do you feel when you’re in an airport? Airports have always been one of my favourite places. Even the trip from home to the airport. I get so stirred - new adventures, people to meet, experiences… yay! As I was praying this morning, I felt God remind me of this feeling. “You’re waiting for your flight to take off. As y
