Welcome to The Yay Project

Hi! I’m Jenni, a Hong Kong-based Canadian Christian creative who loves to write and draw.

The Story

In 2018, I felt God led me to lay down my goals for the year and wait on him like Mary of Bethany. One day, during quiet time when I was struggling with identity, He reminded me that “You are you” (Yay!) and so came the idea for this blog that seeks to celebrate our God-given design.

The fact is that God carefully designed each and every one of us. Think about that for a minute.

God designed everything from our place of birth to the texture of our hair, from our family background to our talents … and so much more. When we start to wish that __________ part of our life is different, let’s check ourselves. Yes? Take our eyes off our worries and back to God! He is good. He is pure love. And he has a unique plan for us in each and every season of our lives and can use everything for his good.

Through various life events, God has given me a deep passion to share about the joy that comes with loving and living for him 100% … and how this, for all my ambitious ladies out there, is how we find our true purpose.

If you'd like a hand, I’d love to help you find yours.

The Yay Project Sisterhood

I pray that The Yay Project is a place where you can:

  • Come read and be REFRESHED!

  • Be reminded of how GREAT our God is

  • Grow more and more passionate to live for God 100% in ALL seasons

  • Discover, grow in, and become BOLD in your God-given calling

  • Find community with God-loving women from all over the WORLD

At the end of the day, we’re sisters on this journey together. We’re learning and growing together. And together we are stronger.

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

I hope you enjoy what you find here! Click, read, scroll, listen, comment, share … curl up and stay awhile. And feel free to reach out too! I’d love to meet you. :)

Love,

Testimonials

"Your blog has been absolutely helpful and inspiring to me, as I found it at a time when I was going through some serious emotional wreckage. I had just come from an ungodly relationship with a man pursuing the Buddhist path and though he never challenged my faith, the relationship itself left me feeling scarred, used, and empty. I was distant from God and didn't know how to seek Him or where to even start. At the same time, I was also desperate for emotional healing and restoration. Reading your post about how to heal from trauma fast encouraged me to seek God humbly and persistently in my prayer life, even when at first I thought I didn't deserve any of His forgiveness. God truly does wonders when we are at the end of ourselves and have no other option but to surrender! So, thank you for this blog, and thank you for responding to God's call. You are helping lost sheep like me make their way back to their Shepherd." - A

"I have started following The Yay Project recently and I am so happy I found your page. Every morning I wake up to check my Instagram, and every time I see your posts, I feel like God is talking to me, reminding me that He is there and He is faithful. I am suffering from depression and anxiety but I just want you to know that every time I see your posts, it reminds me that I am not alone that God is with me." - B

"Just wanted to let you know you have been such an inspiration to me. I saw in one of your stories that you mentioned one of the things you did before you draw is to ask the Holy Spirit for the designs. Since then I tried to do it with our Instagram and amazing & clearer things were revealed. So thank you so much for sharing & love your designs so muchh!" - M

"Wow! All I have to say is God 👏 is 👏 good 👏 !!! Wow!! I can’t tell you how timely your post was for me personally as I go through decisions on location. I was literally in tears. I had to stop midway through, get up, walk around and come back and read and reread. Unbelievable how our God works! He is with us ALWAYS. Thank you so, so much for your post and your openness with your faith. It has been such an encouragement to me!" - R

"I'm amazed with your art, it's wonderful! And the messages are really heartwarming and I just feel the presence and love of Jesus with your posts. Lately, I've forgotten to talk to Him especially in this time that we are suffering in a pandemic, but I think... your posts helped me realize things and made me come back to Him, talk to Him, pray for the world, pray for everything. Just wanna say thank you." - S
