Today’s Love Letter to Jesus
At the moment, my head is flooded with thoughts of Jesus.
His sacrifice.
His perfect example.
His intercession.
His obedience to Father God.
His deep, deep compassion and love.
The older I get, the more I recognise that life usually isn’t easy! Praise God for the sabbath, that at least one day of the week we can totally rest. But the rest of the time? We’ve got responsibilities. He has things for us to do. And sometimes in life, we get those curveballs that turn life as we know it in a different direction.
It can be tempting to want to withdraw. To just focus on the good things in life. But I’m reminded of God’s call to rejoice always and pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). We spoke of this in my small group last night - which I felt brought such a layer of peace to us all.
We will never be able to predict how life will go. But how blessed are we to be part of a family with the most perfect Leader ever. Who we know beyond a doubt loves each and everyone of his children so much he sent his one and only Son to pay the price for our sins.
One day he will totally restore. Until then, he’s still restoring in so many ways isn’t he?
Today can we pray together for those seeking restoration - in their life, family, community, church, workplace, city, world. Maybe we all are in some way as this world isn’t perfect. :) But Jesus is. Oh what an awe-inspiring, strengthening role model Savior King he is.
