Reflecting on 2021 // See You in 2022

I’ve always been a person who likes change — new adventures, hooray!

About this time last year, I asked God to “change everything” after reading about someone else who’d prayed this and God did. And God did for me too, many good, big life changes (not exactly the ones I was praying for though!) — and with that came many more opportunities to *ahem* grow.

Growth isn’t always easy but it’s nice to realise afresh how much we need to rely on God and what a privilege it is to rely on God. Literally we get to draw near and seek and get help from and have his help to become more Christ like!! Is anything better? I think not! :)

So amidst this current change, I’m looking forward to a ‘vacation’ with God of sorts, eagerly awaiting time with just us two, making new memories, praying he opens my eyes to deeper understanding of his love, his Word, his truths. That he strengthens my understanding of how his Spirit is moving, wants to move. How we can surrender and rise up and put on his armour. What it means to live out Hebrews 3:13 to encourage one another daily — how I can do this offline and eventually online again.

*But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. (Hebrews 3:13)

As we go into this Christmas season, begin a new year, I pray we all make extra space to wait before him — pray, worship, adore, honour him. Because of his willing sacrifice, we are free. Because of his epic role modelling, we have so much guidance on how to live well. Praying we love to give him our all, being his hands and feet, embracing his tender love and sharing it with our communities, eagerly awaiting the day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11).

*On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords. (Revelation 19:16)

Before I log off, I wanted to on say I'm sending love and prayers and thanks. So thankful we’ve been able to meet and praise him together this year. Thank you for being a part of the @the.yay.project and @yaypodcast community (sharing some Spotify Wrapped updates). You’re seen and loved.

Merry Christmas and happy 2022. Look forward to serving our Lord, growing in Christ, living and acting and obeying with bolder faith together next year. Praying God overflows in our lives more and more.
