Fact: Jesus Is Coming Back

The Yay Project Christian blog and art by Jenni Lien

Let us be aware of the times. Let us not be afraid. Jesus’s return is imminent!

While we don’t know exactly when it will be, we're told it's soon and we're called to be ready at all times (Matthew 25).

It’s a warning but do we need to be warned?

I pray we love to stay so close to Jesus, everyday, in all ways. That we’re so in love with him it never occurs to us to not give him all we’ve got!

May we also remember, as God reminded me today, that we don’t need to be perfect. Some days, we’re tired. We make mistakes. We may even want to give up. But may we always remember help from God is just one prayer, even one thought away.

Whatever our circumstances are right now, Jesus *is* coming back! May we eagerly await our bridegroom, our hope for all eternity. ❤️🔥

As I was praying this morning, “sound of many waters, of many thunders” came to mind. I googled it and found:

*And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps, (Revelation 14:2)

Reading the whole passage, this then stood out to me:

*It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb, (Revelation 14:4)

[Explanation] The 144,000 are called "virgins" in this verse. The Greek word used here is parthenoi, most often a reference to those who have abstained from sex. The same word can also be used as a reference to spiritual purity. These men refused to participate in the idolatrous worship of the beast. They are like the wise virgins Jesus described as having oil in their lamps while they waited for the bridegroom (Matthew 25:1–13). Similarly, the 144,000 are faithfully waiting for Jesus, the bridegroom, to return with His bride, the church, to celebrate the marriage supper on earth. (Source: Bibleref)
