Experiencing the 'Atmosphere of Heaven' Through Worship
Seek His face. Seek His presence. He will never disappoint you.
Tonight I spent some time worshipping God, singing and dancing around my apartment. Bethel’s Goodness of God touches my heart every time. I pray the words never get too familiar because I never want to stop being in awe, giving thanks to the One who led me through fire and fought for me every step of the way. So I sat, soaked and just felt his love envelope me. Thank you, God, for worship.
This weekend I spent some time typing up notes from books I read last year. The following reminders of worship are so good:
“When we worship, we push ourselves out of the inferior realms where we can pick up all of the negative stuff, and we end up in the glory realm surrounded by his presence.” - Beni Johnson, The Happy Intercessor (book)
“If i have an hour to spend praying, i will usually worship for around 45 mins and pray the rest.” - Bill Johnson in The Happy Intercessor (book)
“By way praise and worship, I can experience the atmosphere of heaven no matter where I am on earth.” - Lisa Bevere, Girls with Swords (book)
In this time, I think we could all use extra strength and refreshment not just for ourselves but so we can pour out to others. To move as God leads in our families, friend groups, community … with loved ones and total strangers alike. Let’s be transformed by his presence, ask for his help to combat any fleshly resistance, and shine his light for all to see. ❤️
*Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. (Psalm 95:1-2)
